Here's how to enable Auto Actions within Clip Studio Paint!

1) Be sure the Auto Action window is open; Toolbar > Window > Auto Action (below History)

2) Once the window it open, right click in it and select "Import set..." and import the "TMoSTH 2.0.laf" file

3) Now you're ready to start using the Auto Action!

A brief explanation on what an Auto Action does:

Auto Actions are a series of inputs that are recorded so that you don't have to repeat every single step to a complicated process such as creating a noise overlay. So, your process might look something like: New Layer > Toolbar Filter > Render > Perlin Noise > set layer effect to Linear Light (or overlay) > lock transparency > fill with foreground color > change layer opacity to 40%

Quite a long winded process right? So, all Auto Actions do, is it records your 'actions' so that every time you click play on said auto action ALL that long winded process is exactly the same EVERY TIME at a push of a button (sometimes laggy depending on the complexity of the action you are doing). It's a very powerful and under utilized function in a LOT of art programs that do use it. Hence, why it's being used here cause I mean, look at this, would you wanna manually do this every time?

So, you can imagine just how awesome learning to make and use Auto Actions can be!

How to use Auto Actions:

Once the .laf file has been imported in the previous step its as simple as left click the auto action "TMoSTH Texture" and hit the play icon on the bottom HOWEVER, you MIGHT have an issue where it merges the wrong layers or does some crazy tomfoolery, so lemme explain how to use it without screwing up your work!

This Auto Action creates a subfolder and renames (if i remember correctly) 'Layer 2' to "NOISE" so it can merge and keep everything orderly before the final merge down into the "Texture" layer from the "Folder 1" name. SO, to combat this be sure you've renamed any "Folder 1" and "Layer 2" (maybe "Layer 1" too) to something else like a good boy or girl and make sure all folders are closed IF you have a folder at the top of your layers as such:

Now, go back to the Auto Action window and select the "TMoSTH Texture" and hit Play

And BAM! ya got yerself the texture overlayed without ANY repeating texture lines since EVERYTHING is generated to your canvas size

Now lets get fancy!

How the tweak the size of the toning and amount of 'noise'

Remember the thing I told ya to disable? Well, DON'T ENABLE IT still, hit the arrow next to it to view every action being done and all you're going to select in terms of that button will be anything with the name "Perlin Noise" and "New Tone Layer" as such:

What this will effectively do is now when you hit play (be sure to the delete the existing Texture Layer in case you made one) and you'll be greeted with some new windows; Perlin Noise generation and Screen Tone settings. The ONLY adjustments to fiddle with is "Scale" and "Amplitude" on the perlin noise generation window (unless you know how that whole thing works then disregard) then "Density" and "Frequency" on the Tone Settings (be sure to remember what you set them to so you can type those same values on the other 2 windows that'll pop up). The higher the Density the less gap you have between the Tone, and the higher the Frequency the more Tone there will be (aka dots and lines).

Once you have everything set and done the rest is taken care of and youll have a different pattern at a different scale as such:

AND THERE YA HAVE IT!

enjoy and remember, have fun with it!
